How To: Watch Hulu in Canada. A New Method.

In August I posted a method I found for watching Hulu in Canada (or anywhere outside of the US for that matter). Unfortunately, that method was a little complicated and Hulu fixed it a few days after Lifehacker posted about it. Last Night I found a new hole and this one’s a fair bit simpler. Here’s a handy instructional video.

The Firefox modify headers extension can be downloaded here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/967/

If you’re interested I am launching a new product called Holly which will allow you to watch Hulu, BBC and many others without having to update your IP address details. we’re taking Beta registrations now, but should be launching in the next few weeks.  http://GetHolly.com

I live in Mexico and with TelMex I get a maximum download speed of 5mbs.

I LOVE MY ROKU!!!!!

I use it with GetUSAWebsites.TV  (Access code 773)  They’re different in that they only jump in when the geo check is done, but the rest of the time it’s a direct connection NOT going through a proxy. The result is that I ALWAYS get a HD signal awesome video on Netflix, and Hulu.  I hate other services where too many users bog down the server, and the quality goes up and down. (Mostly down and skipping!) Grrrrr….

I think GetUSAWebsites approach is superior, and am VERY happy.

My local friend has only a 1.7mbs download speed, and they are using it with their Roku and they love it too.

GetUSAWebsites has 2 plans. Basic is $4.99 and Deluxe is $7.99 a month.  I seriously couldn’t live without it!

Hey, thanks for the prior article and this followup. Will a VPN service work? My aunt is recommending HideMyNet’s VPN but I want to get an expert’s opinion. Thanks!

A VPN service will work, in theory. My problem with VPN services has been that they are typically very slow.

I’ve not heard of HideMyNet, you might as well give it a shot.

I watch Hulu outside the US on my Mac mostly together with Pandora on iPad 😀 with Hide My IP which is a real deal starring from $2.95/month. It works like a charm so definitely I would recommend it.
